Rhymate · Privacy

Your lyrics stay yours.

No accounts, no analytics, no ads. We don’t run a server that collects anything from the app. Here’s the little that does happen with data.

The details

Last updated November 2026.

01

Who is responsible

Rhymate is made by digitowly · Robert Pasdziernik, Düsseldorfer Straße 159, 51063 Köln, Germany, info@digitowly.com. More details are in the Impressum.

02

Your songs & favourites

Your lyrics, chords and favourites are stored on your device. If you use iCloud, they sync through your private iCloud database at Apple. We can’t see that data, and neither can anyone else except you (and Apple, under their privacy policy).

03

Rhymes & definitions

  • Rhyme and synonym searches. When you look up a word, that word is sent to the Datamuse API to find matches. Only the word is sent, never your lyrics.
  • Definitions. When you open a word’s definition, that word is sent to Wiktionary, run by the Wikimedia Foundation (privacy policy).

As with any internet request, these services receive your IP address technically. Both are based in the USA. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: without sending the word, we can’t find rhymes for it. (We tried guessing. Results were poor.)

04

Your rights

Your rights under the GDPR, and who to complain to, are listed on our main privacy page. Since we don’t hold any of your Rhymate data, deleting the app (and its iCloud data) deletes everything.

05

Changes

If a new Rhymate feature changes how data is handled, we’ll update this page first.
